Detective Conan Mysteries Addiction

First of all, the anime blogger is still alive! My apologies for not blogging for quite some time, been busy with work. And sadly, I lost a bit of interest in animes and mangas for a while after I’ve read the disappointing ending of Inuyasha. I was not yet ready to commit to reading mangas again because of fear of similar disappointment. But I’m back with renewed interest and hope that I won’t meet such disappointment, at least for now.

Interest in reading manga aroused again when I decided to start reading Detective Conan from it’s very beginning. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve already watched its anime many times but I can’t seem to finish watching even just the 1st season. Every time I watch it, I go back to the beginning and it got tiring after some time. So once and for all, I decided to hit its manga scanlations. :)

Detective Cona and Shinichi Kudo

For now, I haven’t gotten far, I’ve read only about 50 chapters (Hey, I got work to do, ya know). Each chapter is still interesting for me, even though I’ve already watched its anime version. And I can’t wait to reach the chapters where the famous Detective Conan gets to transform back to Shinichi Kudo, see and talk to Ran as himself (I’m assuming this will happen in the later chappies, right?). Yep, I’m in for the romance of the two but of course, mostly for his mystery cases and his endless chase of the Black Organization. And lastly, I want this question answered: Will he really be able to get his teenage body back? Of course, if this manga is one with happy ending, then we’ll get to see Detective Conan back as Shinichi Kudo. If that’s the case, then the remaining question would be: How will Detective Conan solve his own mysterious case?

From the number of chapters this manga already has, I’m getting the feeling the ending won’t happen soon. It apparently is a big hit in a lot of countries for it to continue to last this long, and from a reader and anime lover’s POV, I can see why. :)

Detective Conan’s author Gosho Aoyama has one twisted brain (and I mean that as a compliment). Everytime I read this manga, I’m always trying to find for loopholes in every case and I can’t find one. I’m not saying I’m an expert in finding loopholes, but surely when you just look carefully and thoroughly, you’ll be able to find a tiny loophole or two. And there can be only two reasons why - I always fail or Gosho Aoyama is a genius when it comes to mystery cases. But wait, isn’t Detective Conan having around 650+ chapters to date already proof enough of his genius? So yes, he happens to be a genius in this thing.

I don’t know if there are hints of it nearing its conclusion, but with already that much chapters (the longest manga I’ve encountered so far), I do hope its case is nearing its closure. :D *fingers crossed*

    Haha, hye there!

Talking about Conan, it really is the longest series I’ve ever read so far. And it’s still ongoing! No positive signs of it coming to an end so far. One moment you think it’s gonna end, then it goes into another twist. Really, how does Aoyama-sensei do that? :D

Thus far I’ve read 610+ chapters, so prepare for a slow cruise in the storyline. It’s really fun. Enjoyyy!

@ dans: so we’re on the same page here thinking that it’s the longest series ah? Yeah, makes us wonder how the hell Aoyama-san does it! He doesn’t seem to run out of ideas for mind-bugling twists, eh? So no luck of it nearing conclusion, huh? And so my prediction is right! :D

I’m so envious! You’re already that far! I wish I have a lot of time in my hands so I can finally finish reading the available scanlations online. I just can’t wait! :D
